Redbone: Why everyone just can't get enough
I bet you weren't expecting to hear a song like this on your local radio this year. But "Redbone" by Childish Gambino (AKA Donald Glover) has been blowing up your radio for the past month. It's everywhere you go and everyone seems to like it, but why? It's like nothing else on radio at the moment with its mix of psychedelic funk/soul and contemporary R&B. You'll be hard-pressed to find a person who knows what the song is about or more than 10% of it's lyrics (except for avid chart-stalkers like myself). The song currently charts at No.14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No.8 on the Shazam chart and we can only expect the song to reach peak position in the near-distant future.
